If I was to go back and tell an 18-year-old me what to do – it’s about defining your own pathway.
Analogy – Life is a bit like climbing a mountain. A Everest or whatever
There are many pathways up the mountain that you have to define your own pathway.
Like stepping stones
And to develop the skills to climb the mountain.
Life used to be very hierarchical. You used to get promoted like climbing up the staircase.
Ultimately you’ll retire a little overweight with a final salary pension scheme – all very comfortable
Now It’s not like that it’s rather like heading in the right direction, but no knowing the destination – it might be zigzagged like getting up stepping stones.Picking up skills on one stepping stone and pick up experience on another stepping stone.
Stepping stones aren’t always in a straight line and occasionally you might hit a stepping stone which gives you good fortune and accelerates you.
It about defining the right pathway and accumulating the skills to get up the pathway.
