“Push for what you want in life—if it doesn’t exist, create it.”, says Zara Lachlan

Top Tip Details

Zara Lachlan will be rowing this October from Portugal across 3,600 miles solo and unsupported to arrive in French Guinana.

This mainland to mainland attempt will mean the 21 year old will set 3 world records: first female to row this crossing solo and unsupported, youngest person to complete this crossing in any boat and youngest female to go from any mainland to mainland across the Atlantic Ocean in any boat (others have gone from Africa which is about 600 miles shorter). It will consist of rowing for 15 hours a day navigating through orca and shark infested water and waves up to 30ft high. This will be Zara’s first ocean crossing ever, and the first time she rows on an ocean will be when she leaves from Portugal.

None of this would be possible without the help and support of her sponsors including Team Forces, Collins Areospace, Telent, Civica and Spectra Group. This row will be fundraising for her two chosen charities: Women in Sport and Team Forces.
