Save Money in Bored Meetings

Dec 2010

Assume some Partners in a global  professional services firm are charged out at £500 an hour (very conservative). If 12 of them meet for an ineffectual meeting then that costs the firm £6,000 in lost revenue and at what added value?  That depends on how well the meeting is manged and whether it achieves its purpose.

In too many firms you could be forgiven to think that people are paid to be busy and manic rather than to think for themselves.

Using the “Transforming Meetings” Approach designed by Nancy Kiline I have helped meetings become really effective. They are then places of high trust, openness and where everyone thinks and their contributions really count. The meetings achieve decisions they all agree to and that add real value.

Now that must be worth it!
